Should You Go Over On Calories To Hit Protein?

With weight-loss being my ultimate goal, and the focus of my nutrition relating to calories and increasing protein intake, of these two which is more important than the other?

If my understanding is correct, managing calorie intake is number one – would you agree? Say at the end of the day I am at my daily calorie goal for the day but not at my protein goal, should I aim to eat more protein or just leave it?

I know that protein has other benefits though and not just in respect of satiety, so wanted to know your thoughts…
